Gas Test Atmospheres

For personnel required to test the working atmosphere of a confined space to determine if it is safe to enter and work in.

National Units of Competency

Application and relevance

For people responsible for pre-entry and ongoing atmospheric testing of confined spaces.

Covers correct use, calibration checks and interpretation of readings for oxygen, LEL and toxic gases.

Course details

Duration
Approximately 4 hours (½ day).
Class size
Maximum 12 students per class.
Prerequisites
No prerequisites.
Equipment
All training materials and PPE supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Includes electronic multi-gas detectors.
Assessment
Continuous assessment across theory and practical components. Written knowledge questions plus supervised practical demonstration against the national performance criteria.
Recognition
Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued under RTO 91267 on successful completion.
