Covers correct use, calibration checks and interpretation of readings for oxygen, LEL and toxic gases.
Course details
- Duration
- Approximately 4 hours (½ day).
- Class size
- Maximum 12 students per class.
- Prerequisites
- No prerequisites.
- Equipment
- All training materials and PPE supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Includes electronic multi-gas detectors.
- Assessment
- Continuous assessment across theory and practical components. Written knowledge questions plus supervised practical demonstration against the national performance criteria.
- Recognition
- Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued under RTO 91267 on successful completion.
Learning outcomes
- Select an appropriate gas detector for the task
- Perform bump tests and calibration checks
- Interpret readings against exposure standards
- Record and communicate results correctly
