Our story

Zokal didn't start as a training company.

It started with a chemist. Working across Australia's most hazardous industries in the 1970s — refineries, mines, tank farms — he watched good workers get hurt because nobody had taught them what the job actually demanded.

So he built something different. A training company obsessed with practical, real-world competence. Where every course is scenario-based. Where the trainers have done the job. Where "compliance" isn't a slide deck — it's a promise to send every worker home.

Four decades later, that promise still runs the business.

The real cost of a lapsed ticket

What happens if one certification expires?

Most operators don't find out until it's too late. Here's what "she'll be right" actually costs an Australian business in 2026 — and why smart operators treat compliance as a production system, not a paperwork exercise.

Workplace shutdowns

One expired ticket can stop the job — and the entire crew — until you fix it.

Six-figure fines

SafeWork penalties routinely land in the hundreds of thousands. Non-compliance is not cheap.

Personal liability

Directors and officers carry personal accountability for WHS breaches. It follows you home.

Worker injuries

The physical, emotional and financial cost of a serious incident is measured in years — not dollars.

Lost contracts

Principals audit safety records before awarding work. A gap costs you tenders you'll never see.

Reputation damage

One incident, one news story, and 30 years of trust evaporates overnight.

Don't wait for the incident.
