Pole Top Rescue

Skills to safely conduct a pole-top rescue with correct inspection and use of pole-top rescue equipment.

National Units of Competency

Codes verifiable on the national training.gov.au register.

For distribution line workers who may need to rescue a colleague from a wooden pole in the field.

Focuses on correct inspection, rigging and lowering under WHS requirements.

Duration: Approximately 4 hours (½ day).
Class size: Maximum 8 students per class.
Prerequisites: Existing pole climbing / distribution line worker qualifications.
Equipment: All training materials and PPE supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Includes pole-top rescue kit and climbing gear.
Assessment: Continuous assessment across theory and practical components. Written knowledge questions plus supervised practical demonstration against the national performance criteria.
Recognition: Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued under RTO 91267 on successful completion.
