Skills to operate first-response fire fighting equipment on a small workplace fire — extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets.
National Units of Competency
Codes verifiable on the national training.gov.au register.
Application and relevance
For any worker who may be required to attempt suppression of a small fire before it grows.
Includes live extinguisher use against real flame under trainer supervision.
Course details
- Duration
- Approximately 4 hours (½ day).
- Class size
- Maximum 16 students per class.
- Prerequisites
- No prerequisites.
- Equipment
- All training materials and PPE supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Includes live-fire props and multiple extinguisher types.
- Assessment
- Continuous assessment across theory and practical components. Written knowledge questions plus supervised practical demonstration against the national performance criteria.
- Recognition
- Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued under RTO 91267 on successful completion.

- Recognise when to attack vs when to evacuate
