What are the main first aid courses available?+

Common nationally recognised first aid courses include HLTAID009 (Provide CPR), HLTAID010 (Provide basic emergency life support), HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid — most popular), HLTAID012 (Provide First Aid in an education and care setting) and HLTAID014 (Provide Advanced First Aid).

HLTAID011 usually takes 1 full day (can be blended online + in person). CPR (HLTAID009) takes 2–3 hours. Advanced First Aid runs 2–3 days.

How often should first aid training be renewed?+

CPR is recommended to be refreshed every 12 months. First Aid certificates should be renewed every 3 years, as per Safe Work Australia guidelines.

Is first aid training nationally recognised?+

Yes. Accredited training providers issue Statements of Attainment upon successful completion, valid across all states and territories.

How much does first aid training cost in Australia?+

Prices vary by provider and course type. CPR: from $60–$90. HLTAID011: from $100–$160. Advanced First Aid: $250–$400+.
