For nominated workplace first aiders and any worker needing a current first aid credential.
Meets Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice for first aid in the workplace.
Course details
- Duration
- 1 day face-to-face (approx. 8 hours), plus pre-course online learning.
- Class size
- Maximum 16 students per class.
- Prerequisites
- No prerequisites. Pre-course online learning may be issued prior to the practical day.
- Equipment
- All training materials and PPE supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Includes CPR manikins, AED trainers and first aid kits.
- Assessment
- Continuous assessment across theory and practical components. Written knowledge questions plus supervised practical demonstration against the national performance criteria.
- Recognition
- Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued under RTO 91267 on successful completion. HLTAID009 (CPR) requires annual recertification.
Learning outcomes
- Recognise and respond to an emergency using DRSABCD
- Perform CPR and use an AED
- Manage bleeding, shock, burns and fractures
- Complete incident documentation and handover
