Work Safely at Heights
For workers required to operate at height or depth, including performing a height rescue.
National Units of Competency
Codes verifiable on the national training.gov.au register.
Application and relevance
For anyone exposed to a fall from 2 m or more — construction, trades, utilities, telco and facility maintenance.
Includes a live suspended-worker rescue scenario.
Course details
- Duration
- 1 day (approx. 8 hours).
- Class size
- Maximum 12 students per class.
- Prerequisites
- No prerequisites. Learners must be physically capable of the practical rescue tasks.
- Equipment
- All training materials and PPE supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Includes harnesses, lanyards, anchor points and rescue kit.
- Assessment
- Continuous assessment across theory and practical components. Written knowledge questions plus supervised practical demonstration against the national performance criteria.
- Recognition
- Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued under RTO 91267 on successful completion.

- Apply the hierarchy of controls to height work
- Inspect, select and fit fall-arrest equipment
- Work safely on ladders, roofs and elevated platforms
- Perform a height rescue of a suspended worker
